Judy was born in Smethwick, West Midlands in August 1950 and after leaving grammar school at age 16, worked in an industrial laboratory as an analytical chemist on a day release scheme so that she could continue her studies, firstly at Chance Technical College and then Wolverhampton Polytechnic where she studied chemistry, physics and maths.
Married to Roger in 1969 and have 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. After raising her children, Judy worked in her husband’s newly formed business, learning new skills as bookkeeper/office manager and continues some bookkeeping work, on a part-time basis from home.
Having lived in Mappleborough Green for almost 30yrs and coming to faith in her mid-thirties, Judy has been involved in the local church in various roles throughout, trained and licensed as a Reader in 2005 before training for ordination. Ordained deacon in 2009, ordained priest in 2010 and now licensed as Associate Minister.
Judy’s passion throughout her ministry is that everyone, perhaps especially children, should know the love of God for them, just as they are and where they are in their journey of life.
Judy enjoys spending time with family and friends, sharing good food and wine, but also appreciates her own space to read and reflect. For many years, along with her husband, Judy was a season ticket holder at West Bromwich Albion football club and although, following her husband’s death in 2013 she has not renewed the season ticket, she continues as a keen supporter. Her recently new found interests include shore fishing and she has also begun to take golf lessons.
